People search for "Candy AI hentai mode" as if there were a switch for it. There isn't. On Candy, hentai means two separate things: a character built in the Anime style, and explicit image generation, which sits on the Plus plan. The chat model is the same either way.
I cover anime and character platforms for the desk, so for this post I went back through the numbers we already have: the full Candy AI review (14 days, 200+ messages, 50 image generations), our Kupid review, where Candy's anime mode ran side by side with an anime-only app, and the 18+ image generator comparison. In short, Candy's anime images keep the face, its hands are the best we have counted, and the costume is where it goes soft. The apps I would look at for hentai chat and images come first, then the detail.
Best apps for hentai chat and images, Candy included
Ordered for explicit anime use. Scores are each app's overall review score on this site; apps without a review show none.

1. Joi AI Best overall
Tuning an explicit character who leads the scene
Joi loses to Candy on images and wins on the character. The builder has 12 personality sliders, six chat styles and around forty occupations, and our Joi review found that kinks set in the builder came up in chat unprompted, where Candy waits for you to lead. On Pro with the adult toggle on, the test character refused zero times. Her face held across 40+ generations, and explicit images run on coins, 10 to 15 per render. Check in the app whether anime personas show up on your account.
- Explicit chat Premium $9.99, uncapped on Pro $17.77
- Explicit images 10 to 15 coins each
- Free tier 30 msgs/day, no images

2. Candy AI Best image lock
Anime images with a stable face and clean hands
The subject of this post. Candy's anime style is a choice you make when you create the character, and it runs on the pipeline that held one face across 50 generations and drew hands correctly 49 times in 50 in our review. Its chat is the strongest on this list at 46/50. The weak spots are outfit detail, which slipped more often than on Kupid in our parallel test, a look that is competent and generic, and the price of explicit images, which need Plus at $22.99.
- Explicit images Plus $22.99
- Premium $12.99, explicit chat and soft images
- Free tier 10 msgs/day, 3 SFW images/month

3. Lovescape Best value for anime images
Explicit anime images on a $9.99 plan
Lovescape's creator shows two options on its style screen, Realistic and Anime, and Premium at $9.99 unlocks explicit images, about 50 a month, with no coins on top. Our review held the character in 41 of 47 renders (87%) and caught two melted thumbs, a notch under Candy. The writing is warmer and slower than Candy's (39/50), and steering a paid chat to explicit took four messages with no refusals.
- Explicit images Premium $9.99, about 50/month
- Unlimited images Plus $19.99
- Free tier No images

4. OurDream AI Best for anime in motion
Realistic or anime looks, plus video clips
OurDream has a realistic and anime builder and the biggest image sample we have: faces clean in 207 of 217 renders, hands right in 199 (92%). Premium at $9.99 includes about 150 images and about 20 video clips a month with NSFW on, and you can swap an outfit per image without rebuilding the character, which is where Candy struggles. It is web only, and the voice scored 5/10.
- Explicit images Premium $9.99, about 150/month
- Video About 20 clips/month on Premium
- Free tier About 10 SFW images

5. Nectar AI Best chat for slow burn
A slower explicit romance with strong memory
Nectar is here for the writing. It scored 43/50 on our coherence script and 19/20 on memory, and its memory inspector lets you edit every fact it stores. Images are the weak half: about 8 keepers in 40, hands sometimes wrong, about 80 a month on Premium at $9.99. Our review did not test an anime style, so check that in the app before paying.
- Explicit images Premium $9.99, about 80/month
- Unlimited images Plus $19.99
- Free tier About 25 messages, no images

6. Hentai AI Chat Anime-only roleplay
Anime roleplay in the browser with no setup
Hentai AI Chat is text first: a fixed cast of 15 anime characters written as adult personas, from an office boss who likes power plays to a witch who builds fantasy worlds on request. There is no builder and nothing to configure. Characters start light and go further when you ask. The free preview is a couple of messages long before the upgrade prompt.
- Cast 15 preset anime characters
- Format Browser text chat
- Free preview A couple of messages

7. Love Companion AI Best for anime archetypes
Anime personality types in written chat
Love Companion AI suits readers who care about anime personality types more than pictures. Its 15 companions include archetypes that hold their behavior, such as Hana the tsundere and Rin the kuudere (23 in her profile). It has a dedicated 18+ mode and a four-step quiz that generates a partner from hair, body type, personality and preferences. It is free to start with no signup, and the free run is about five messages.
- Cast 15 companions, anime archetypes included
- Explicit chat Dedicated 18+ mode
- Free tier About 5 messages, no signup
Candy AI vs the alternatives for hentai
The image numbers come from each app's own review run on this site.
| App | Score | Anime style | Explicit images from | Image lock | Hands | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4.3 | Check in the app | Coins, 10 to 15 per image | Same face across 40+ gens | Not counted | A character you tune yourself | |
| 4.8 | Picked per character in the creator | Plus $22.99 | 50 of 50 (realistic run) | 49 of 50 | Image quality and chat in one app | |
| 4.1 | Realistic or Anime on the style screen | Premium $9.99 | 41 of 47 (87%) | Two melted thumbs in 47 | Cheap explicit anime images | |
| 4.1 | Realistic and anime builder | Premium $9.99 | 198 of 217 (91%) | 199 of 217 (92%) | Volume and video | |
| 4.2 | Not tested by us | Premium $9.99 | Not measured | Sometimes wrong | Slow-burn chat | |
| Not scored | Anime-only cast of 15 | Text first | Not tested | Not tested | Roleplay with no setup | |
| 4.3 | Anime archetypes in text | Text chat | Not tested | Not tested | Personality tropes |
Runs differ in size because each was done for a separate review, so compare percentages. Candy's lock and hand counts were measured on a realistic character; the anime comparison comes from our Kupid test. Kupid, the anime-only benchmark, is covered in the alternatives section.
What "hentai mode" means on Candy AI
The Anime choice in the creator
Candy's own pages and the third-party walkthroughs I read agree that the character creator asks for Realistic or Anime on its first screen, before body, face and personality. That choice belongs to the character. None of them describe a way to convert an existing realistic character, so if you already have one you like, plan on building a second. Some walkthroughs also mention an anime option per request in the image generator, and one fan page says there is no style toggle at all. Check this in the app; the creator choice is the part every source confirms.
The Anime tab of ready-made characters
Next to the Girls and Guys tabs in Candy's catalog sits an Anime tab with its own roster of premade characters. The roster changes, so I won't print a count. If you browse it, pick by what each card says about age and job, and skip any card that doesn't state both. I would rather build my own, for reasons covered further down and in the site's guide to building your own companion.
What stays the same
Under the art sits one large language model, the same for both styles. The anime style changes the art and leaves the writing alone. Chat, memory and voice run on the same engine in both styles, and that engine is a large part of why Candy holds a 4.8 / 5 on this site: 46/50 on our coherence test and 18 of 20 facts recalled across ten days. Personality comes from the builder fields and sliders, whatever the art style.
What works
The face holds
Candy has the best character lock we have measured. In the Candy review the desk pulled 50 images of Sasha, a 29-year-old graphic designer built in the realistic style, across 14 days and got the same face every time, including a Tokyo hotel prompt on day 11 that produced strangers on other apps. That run was photoreal. For anime, the evidence is our Kupid test, where Candy's anime mode ran in parallel and kept the face. Kupid's lock was tighter. Still, a face that comes back render after render is the first thing a recurring hentai character needs, and Candy delivers it.
Hands
Hands are where explicit images usually fall apart. Candy's pipeline produced one extra finger in 50 generations, so 49 of 50 correct. Kupid managed 45 of 50 on its anime portraits and OurDream 92% across 217 images; the 18+ AI image generators comparison lists them side by side. The 49 of 50 count comes from the realistic run, and nobody on the desk counted anime hands on Candy separately. I treat it as the pipeline's record and still look at the hands on the first few renders.
The chat behind the art
Most anime-first apps are image tools with a chat window attached. Kupid, which has the best anime art we have tested, scored 37/50 on conversation. Candy scored 46/50, and its explicit filter held: the same explicit prompt at messages 14, 87 and 178 got the same in-character reply three times. Know one trait before an explicit scene. Candy waits for you to lead. Our review of Joi AI found that kinks named in Joi's builder came up in chat unprompted, which Candy's NSFW model still won't do. That suits people who like to steer and frustrates people who want the character to take the initiative.
What doesn't
Outfit detail drifts
This is the main weakness, and it hurts hentai most, because the costume is half of many anime characters. In the Kupid parallel test, Candy's anime mode lost outfit detail more often than Kupid did. Kupid's own numbers give the yardstick: its outfit held in 35 of 50 full-body shots and 50 of 50 headshots. Candy dropped outfit details more often than that. In practice, expect to re-roll when a detail you care about (a particular jacket, a hairpin, a color) goes missing, and expect it more on full-body scenes than on portraits.
The look is generic
Our Kupid review put it plainly: switched to anime, Candy's style is competent but generic. The pipeline is tuned for realism, and its anime output looks like a polished default with no house style of its own. If you want a specific studio look, or a character who reads as drawn instead of rendered, an anime-only app does that better.
Long prompts and photo words pull it off-style
I would avoid two things in prompts, based on what several Candy walkthroughs report and on how style-switching pipelines tend to behave. The first is camera language. Words like "photo", "realistic", "DSLR" or a lens size pull renders toward photoreal and leave you with a half-anime hybrid. That is how a text-to-image model works: every word in the prompt pulls the render toward the pictures it was trained on under that word. The second is a long prompt that restates the whole character: the more you pile on, the more the face drifts away from the one you built. Keep the look in the builder and use the prompt for the scene. Scenes with two or more characters also tend to blur faces, so I keep explicit renders to one character at a time.
Explicit images sit behind Plus
Most people find this one at checkout. Premium at $12.99 unlocks explicit text, soft images (lingerie, swimwear) and 100 SFW images a month. Explicit images need Plus at $22.99 or VIP at $49.99. Lovescape, OurDream and Nectar switch explicit images on at $9.99, and Joi sells them by the coin. For hentai, that makes Candy the most expensive way in.
What works
- The face held across 50 renders in our review, and anime mode kept it in the Kupid comparison
- Hands right in 49 of 50, the best count on the site
- The chat scored 46/50, well above anime-only apps
- The explicit filter gave the same in-character reply at messages 14, 87 and 178
What doesn't
- Outfit detail drops more often than on Kupid
- The anime look is competent and generic
- Explicit images need Plus at $22.99
- Style is fixed per character, so a realistic build can't become anime
What it costs to use Candy for hentai
| Plan | Price | What it means for hentai |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 10 messages a day, 3 SFW images a month at about 28 seconds, text only |
| Premium | $12.99 a month | Unlimited messages, explicit chat, 100 SFW images a month at 12 seconds, soft images included, no explicit images |
| Plus | $22.99 a month | Explicit image generation, the plan you need for hentai images |
| VIP | $49.99 a month | Unlimited explicit images, voice cloning, a priority queue (about 7 seconds a render, against 12 on Premium) |
| Annual | $6.99 a month, billed $83.88 | Breaks even against monthly at month 7 |
These are the prices in our Candy AI review, which notes that Candy adjusts prices seasonally, so the number at checkout is what counts. Paid plans carry a 7-day refund, and on the review's test account the money came back in two days. I won't give a token cost per image. The figures quoted around the web run from one to four tokens and contradict each other, while our review priced images by plan quota, which you can check yourself.
If you only want explicit chat with an anime character plus SFW or lingerie images, Premium covers it. If explicit images are the point, budget for Plus, or start on one of the $9.99 apps in the list.
Keeping anime characters clearly adult
Anime styles read younger than photoreal ones, so on every app here I state the adult framing outright instead of trusting the art. Slim, youthful styling draws the same scrutiny in text, as I found going through the rules for femboy characters on SpicyChat. Give the character an age of 18 or over in the age field, ideally mid-twenties (24 or 27), and an adult job such as nurse, bartender, game developer or office manager. Leave out school, classroom and family-role labels, and describe an adult body. All the apps on this page are 18+ only and bar characters who look underage in any art style; Kupid's builder, for one, refuses to render a chibi avatar in NSFW prompts. Those rules apply to drawings exactly as they apply to photoreal images, and an account that pushes on them is an account at risk.
How I'd set up an anime character on Candy
- Create a new character and choose Anime on the first screen.
- Set an adult age (I'd use 25) and an adult job, then fill the personality fields. The sliders do change her replies: in our review, directness at 9 changed the tone by message 3.
- Pick three visual traits you will check on every render, for example silver hair in a low ponytail, green eyes and a black leather jacket. A few distinct traits survive better than a long list.
- Render one test image before ordering a set. If the outfit is already off, fix it in the builder, not the prompt.
- Ask for the scene with one character per render and no camera words. Re-roll when the outfit drifts, and glance at the hands anyway.
Candy AI alternatives for hentai
If the outfit drift or the Plus price rules Candy out, these are the apps I would try, in the same order as the list above. If you want anime and nothing else, the Kupid AI review covers the app with the tightest anime lock we have measured (face 50 of 50), at the cost of a 37/50 chat score and no voice.
Joi AI
Joi is my first pick when the character matters more than the pictures. You set the personality on 12 sliders and switch between six chat styles mid-session, and the new register lands within two or three messages. On Pro the review's explicit script got zero refusals, and builder kinks surfaced without prompting, so she leads. Two costs to plan for: Premium clips replies at about 115 characters, which makes Pro at $17.77 the real price, and explicit images cost 10 to 15 coins each. Our review describes a character builder and doesn't cover an anime roster, so check the app for anime personas.
Lovescape
Lovescape is the cheapest clean route to explicit anime images on this list. The style screen offers Realistic or Anime, and Premium at $9.99 includes about 50 explicit-capable images a month with no coins; Plus at $19.99 makes them unlimited. The lock is a notch under Candy at 87%. Read the privacy policy first: our review found no retention window in it and no training opt-out in the settings. See the Lovescape AI review for the full test.
OurDream AI
OurDream is the one for volume and motion. Per-image outfit swaps go straight at Candy's weak spot, and hands came out right in 92% of 217 renders. Premium at $9.99 includes about 20 video clips a month, though one clip in five in our test had a motion artifact we would reject (a hand morph, a face flicker). There is no native app, only the web build.
Nectar AI
Nectar is the slow-burn choice. In our review the character led into intimacy instead of jumping there, with zero refusals on consensual adult content across the explicit script. Long explicit sessions hit a soft step-down after roughly 90 to 120 minutes, when replies got shorter and cooler. Its images are the weakest of the five main apps here, and our review didn't test an anime style, so treat Nectar as a chat app with pictures attached.
Hentai AI Chat
Hentai AI Chat skips building entirely. You pick one of 15 preset anime characters, each written as an adult with a job or role (an office boss, a shrine keeper, a stage idol, an older woman who sets the pace), and start typing in the browser. It suits readers who want anime roleplay tonight and don't care about images. The free preview is very short, so expect the upgrade prompt almost at once.
Love Companion AI
Love Companion AI is the pick if archetypes are what you came for. Our review found the tsundere and kuudere characters hold their behavior over a conversation, where most apps slide into a generic flirt voice. The 18+ mode stays in-scene, and the quiz sets a direction for a custom partner without a detailed backstory. It scored 4.3 / 5 in our review, mostly for design and the erotic mode; the free run is short.
Candy AI hentai mode FAQ
Does Candy AI have a hentai or anime mode?
Yes and no. Anime is a style you pick when you create a character, and Candy's catalog has an Anime tab of ready-made characters. There is no separate hentai product; explicit anime images come from the Anime style plus the Plus plan.
Can Candy AI make explicit anime images on the free plan?
No. The free plan gives 3 SFW images a month. Premium at $12.99 adds 100 SFW images and soft content such as lingerie, and explicit images need Plus at $22.99 or VIP at $49.99, per our Candy AI review.
Can I switch an existing Candy character from realistic to anime?
Not as far as any source I read describes. The style is set per character in the creator, so build a second character in the Anime style.
Is Candy's anime mode as consistent as its realistic mode?
The face holds. In our Kupid parallel test, Candy's anime mode kept the face but lost outfit detail more often than Kupid, which held the outfit in 35 of 50 full-body shots. Candy's 50 of 50 face run and 49 of 50 hands were measured on a realistic character.
Does the anime style change how she chats?
No. Chat, memory and voice run on the same engine in both styles. Personality comes from the builder fields and sliders.
What is the best Candy AI alternative for hentai?
Joi AI if you want a character you tune yourself who leads explicit scenes, Lovescape for explicit anime images on the $9.99 plan with no coins, and Kupid if you want anime and nothing else.
Are anime characters on these apps adults?
They have to be. Every app in this post is 18+ only and bars characters who look underage in any art style. Set an adult age (mid-twenties works) and an adult job, and leave out school or family-role labels.
